"Roy" is one of the premier stallions in AMHA history. He has fulfilled all
anyone could ask of a truly great stallion. His bloodlines include a World
Grand Champion, World Reserve Grand Champion, and one of the most
influential stallions in AMHA history Orion Light Vant Huttenest.
Exceptional pedigree also carries the burden of high expectations. In the
show ring Roy proved up to the task and then some. In his first year showing
as a senior stallion, he was chosen World Champion Senior Stallion. Then
topped that with the coveted award of World Reserve Grand Champion Senior
Stallion. After establishing himself as one of the leading miniature show
stallions in the world, Roy moved on to the final test of a great stallion -
the ability to reproduce greatness in his offspring. In this area he has
again exceeded expectations. The numbers of World Championships won by his
foals are listed above. Any stallion could be proud of those results in a
lifetime of progeny. Roy has produced those results with less than 60 foals.
A most remarkable accomplishment. His very first foal won a World
Championship in 1993 and his get have withstood the test of time by winning
again at the 2004 World Championships. In 2001 Roy became the first stallion
to produce a World Reserve Grand Champion Senior Stallion and World Reserve
Grand Champion Senior Mare in the same year. Roys foals continue as show
horses, herd sires and foundation mares across the United States, in Canada,
and overseas. Now, his grand-get are also winning in the show ring.
Roy is still going strong. We bred him to two mares in 2006 and he produced
a beautiful colt and filly in 2007. The colt is showing with Darin Southwick
as a yearling in 2008. He won first place by all judges in his very first
show. The filly is also show quality. In 2007 we bred Roy to just one mare
as we began reducing the size of our herd. His 2008 foal is a stunning filly
by one of our top mares La Vista Remarkable Rita.
